HONG KONG: A Hong Kong tycoon has offered a $65 million “marriage bounty” to any man who can win the heart of his lesbian daughter, a report said Wednesday.
Cecil Chao declared the financial compensate of HK $500 thousand after his child, Gigi, wedded her same-sex associate of seven years in Portugal a few months ago, the Southern China suppliers Day Publish revealed.
“I do not mind whether he is wealthy or inadequate. The main thing is that he is nice and type hearted,” 76-year-old Chao was estimated as saying.
“Gigi is a very good lady with both abilities and looks. She is dedicated to her mother and father, is nice and does offer work,” he included.
He also denied “false reports” that Gigi, 33, had wedded overseas, saying she was still single.
Chao, who operates publicly-listed real estate asset designer Cheuk Nang, could not be achieved for thoughts.
Same-sex weddings are not acknowledged in Hong Kong, a culturally traditional China town where homosexuality was decriminalised in 1991.
Chao is well known in Hong Kong’s community groups and consistently seems to be at community activities with his newest young sweetheart.
He allegedly once stated to have had romantic interaction with 10,000 women.
